Stainless Steel Pipe
Internal Shot Peening

Shot peening applied to the interior of stainless steel pipes to extend the life of products

This is the shot peening for the interior surface of stainless steel pipes used in coal thermal power plants in the steam heating of ultrasupercritical pressure boilers. By blasting stainless steel balls inside steel pipes, anti-steam oxidation properties will improve. Therefore, the accumulation of scales resulting from steam oxidation can be inhibited over a long time, even in extreme environments, such as inside the steam heating tubes of ultrasupercritical pressure boilers. (Crashing accidents of overheated boiler tubes resulting from the accumulation of steam oxidation scales can be prevented) After shot blasting, Nihon Chemical will request an inspection body to measure the hardness of a pipe’s inner surface and prepare a determination of composition. The results of this will be provided together with an inspection certificate.
